Peeking into Kindergarten

By Ali Calloway

This story aims to give a well-rounded perspective into the lives of Mrs. Zehr's Pre-K and Kindergarten class through a variety of photos that capture work, play, and genuine interaction of friendship. The atmosphere of the class is a positive and supportive one, created by Mrs. Zehr and her teaching assistant, Mrs. Ellis. Spending so much time with Mrs. Zehr, I have been able to gather what her purpose is as a primary teacher at George Watts: spread positive impact through teaching children during a significant developmental stage and provide access to resources for Spanish-speaking families as the only Spanish-speaking teacher at Watts. Being able to photograph such a lively and interactive class has been a pleasure. Thank you, George Watts and Mrs. Zehr, for allowing me this opportunity!
